NO LATE STUDENTS ADMITTED. THEY WILL BE SENT BACK TO CLASS AND ADDED TO THE MAKEUP DAY. WE WILL SEND DAILY ROSTERS OF WHO SHOWED.

Princeton Summer Journalism Program for JUNIORS

The PSJP application is now live! PSJP is a free, 10-day intensive journalism program hosted on Princeton’s campus, during which students learn reporting and media from professional journalists at some of the nation’s biggest news outlets. After the summer, students are also paired with an individual counselor to guide them through their application process, thereby supplementing the work that CAC does.

 

Information to circulate:

 

The application for the Princeton University Summer Journalism Program (PSJP) is now live! Please share the information below with your students.

 

What:   PSJP is an all-expenses-paid journalism and college preparation program held at Princeton University for high school juniors from low-income backgrounds. Students learn reporting skills from celebrated journalists, report and write their own newspaper, and are paired with a counselor who oversees their college admissions process during their senior year.

 

Who:     High school juniors living in the United States with an unweighted GPA of 3.5/4.0, who have an interest in journalism. The custodial parent(s)/guardian(s)’ combined income (including child support received) must not exceed $45,000 annually (all criteria must be met).

 

Program dates: Fri, Aug 3 – Mon, Aug 13, 2018

 

Cost:      FREE! All program costs, including meals, housing, and transportation to and from campus, are covered by the program.

 

Applications are due Fri, Mar 23, 2018

Decision Day Announcement

"Seniors! Soon you will see advertisements around campus for Decision Day: A day (hosted by the College Ambassador Club) to celebrate your committment to college, the armed forces, or work post-graduation. 

The event will be held on Friday May 11 from 1:00-2:50pm outside on the football field. On this day we will have games, food, and music. We will have raffle prizes and game prizes. We will be grilling hamburgers & hotdogs. And we will even have puppies! 

If this sounds like something you'd like to partake in, then attached you will find the 2 Progress Reports you MUST complete before Decision Day for admittance. Phase 1 (1st Progress Report) is due April 2, and Phase 2 is due May 1. In order to be entered into the raffle and be eligible for the College Ambassador Scholarship, you MUST have these Progress Reports completed & signed by these deadlines. If you turn them in late, you will still be able to partake on May 11, you just will not be eligible for the raffle or scholarship. If you have any questions, please email Ms. Frady or speak with any of our 31 College Ambassadors.
