Dear East Bladen Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year at East Bladen High School. I hope that you have had opportunities to make memories and recharge over the summer and are ready to begin what promises to be a great year at the Nest. We are excited to open our doors and begin another year with our students and families. As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, our mission remains the same: Learning with Passion, Living with Purpose, and Leading with Integrity. These words aren't just part of a slogan—they represent who we are and what we want every staff member, family member, and student to experience during their time at East Bladen.

Along with our mission, we are committed to four core values that define who we are and help us to achieve our mission: .

  • Belonging: Every student deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and valued from the moment they walk through our doors. East Bladen is more than a school; it is a family, and every Eagle has a place here.

  • Purpose. High school is about more than earning their diploma. It is about discovering strengths, chasing dreams, serving others, and preparing for the opportunities that lie ahead.

  • Belief: We want every student to believe in themselves, one another, and in what they can accomplish through hard work. Sometimes all it takes is one person believing in a student before that student begins believing in themselves. East Bladen is committed to doing just that.

  • Support: Success is never achieved alone. Whether it's a teacher staying after school, a coach encouraging an athlete, a counselor offering guidance, or a parent cheering from the sidelines, we believe students accomplish their best when they know they have people in their corner. The word family is not just a word, but it is a way of life at East Bladen.

To our students, I encourage you to make this year count. Get involved. Challenge yourself. Build relationships. Celebrate one another's successes. Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone because that's where growth begins.

To our parents and families, thank you for the trust you place in us each day. Your partnership makes a tremendous difference, and together we can help every student reach their fullest potential. I encourage you to get involved with our Parent Advisory Team or Booster Club and together let us do great things for our students this year.

The excitement of a new school year always brings new opportunities, fresh goals, and a chance to write another chapter in the story of East Bladen High School. I truly believe our best days are still ahead, and I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together.

Thank you for being part of the East Bladen family. Let's make the 2026–2027 school year one that reflects our mission, strengthens our core values, and continues our tradition of excellence. I can’t wait to see our returning students back on campus and to officially welcome our new freshmen to the East Bladen family. I encourage you to reach out to me at cscarroll@bladen.k12.nc.us or 910-247-4610 if you have any questions.

Welcome back, and as always… Go Eagles!

Sincerely,
Dr. Christopher Carroll
