BCS Families—Due to expected winter weather in our area, Bladen County Schools will transition to an asynchronous remote learning day for Monday, January 26.
Asynchronous learning means that students will work independently on assignments that teachers have either posted in Canvas, Google Classroom, or will be sending home with students tomorrow, Friday, January 23. Staff will receive information regarding work schedule from their supervisors.
Additionally, all school buildings and district departments will be closed and there will be no events or activities held on Monday. A decision regarding school operations for Tuesday, January 27, will be made no later than 8 pm on Monday, January 26.
We appreciate your cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff, and we encourage everyone to closely monitor all communication channels for additional updates.

Thank you to everyone who donated blood and helped make this event possible! Your generosity will make a real difference by helping save lives and support patients in need. A special shoutout to our students who played a key role in making the day run smoothly. They checked on donors, escorted them to and from class, and helped ensure the entire process was successful. We are proud of their leadership, responsibility, and commitment to serving others.
One of the key focuses for Bladen County Schools this year is “Learners to Leaders.” At East Bladen, we strive to Learn with Passion, Live with Purpose, and Lead with Integrity.
Last week, two of our students, Aaliyah Monroe and Nyasia Banks, noticed an ongoing issue with the condition of the ladies’ restrooms and decided to take action. Concerned about the lack of care shown by some classmates, they took the initiative to create, print, laminate, and hang flyers encouraging students to help keep the bathrooms clean.
Aaliyah and Nyasia then presented their idea to Dr. Carroll, sharing their concerns and highlighting the hard work our custodians do each day to maintain a clean school environment. Their actions demonstrate true leadership and a commitment to living with purpose.
These two students are excellent examples of what it means to be Learners to Leaders at East Bladen.

Landon Brice Scott set a new men’s basketball school record tonight by knocking down 10 three-pointers in a single game, breaking the previous record of 8 held by Lee Barnes. Congratulations, Landon, on this outstanding achievement!
